For this amazing behind the scenes project, we worked with Valerie Gernhauser, owner of Ruby and Pearl Events, to document the transformation of a college university ballroom into an elegant wedding reception space.

The Cotillion Ballroom at Nicholls State University was the location of the wedding reception.

This monumentous celebration will feature an elegant color story, organic floral design, and modern details. A French château style, complete with stunning chandeliers and unique furniture selections will completely transform the space.

In regard to the Reception Entrance:

The hallway leading to the ballroom will be draped in layers of white fabric, creating a beautiful first impression. Pillar candles will line the hallway for a romantic feel. The welcome table will be covered in the sage watercolor linen. Candles of various heights and a low lush arrangement in shades of white with greenery will complete this table.

For the overall Reception design:

A four-point truss system will support a cluster of
chandeliers suspended over the dance floor. The
four existing columns will be draped in fabric, while
the truss structure will be encased in a clean tight
fabric of similar color. A fabric valance will unify the
truss structure and set this off as a focal point in the
room, creating a seemingly entirely new
infrastructure in a familiar space for the guests.
The valance will be accented by French château
inspired molding to complete the installation.
Hanging from the truss system will be a collection of
crystal chandeliers in various sizes. The chandeliers
will hang from different heights to create a visually rich statement.
